Houndstooth Hand-Turned Trumpet Turkey Calls

I’ve been a fan of hunting with trumpet turkey calls for years. I used to build trumpets myself, and some of you may even own one of those calls from back in the day.

My youngest son is now a machinist, and like me, he has a love for trumpet turkey calls. That passion has brought us together on a father-and-son collaboration here at Houndstooth Game Calls.

From boring and turning to shaping and the final finish, we’re building these trumpets together, one call at a time.

To me, a truly hand-turned trumpet turkey call is almost a mystical instrument. I’ve always loved collecting them, studying them, and hunting with them. There’s something special about a call that’s been shaped by hand.

And make no mistake, there’s a difference between a hand-turned trumpet and a CNC-machined call. Every hand-turned trumpet has its own character, feel, and personality. No two are exactly alike.

We’re proud to bring that old-school craftsmanship back to Houndstooth with our own line of custom, hand-turned trumpet turkey calls.

These trumpets all have Delrin mouth piece's.

Built by hunters. Turned by hand. Made to hunt.
